Don't call them 'real negotiations', EU leaders say on Ukraine
According to an EU official, Zelenskyy briefed EU leaders on the latest series of Russian attacks, his latest contacts with the US administration and next steps towards peace.
EU leaders then for two hours discussed their support for Ukraine, where "there was a shared view that no real negotiations are taking place at the moment", the official said, adding they also discussed "the best ways to have an influence on the process".
Conclusions on Ukraine were adopted by 26 countries, with the same formula as in the last EU summit circumventing Hungary. The text, which we've just received, calls "the need to continue to support Ukraine politically and militarily".
Many EU leaders also underscored the need to speed up Ukraine's accession negotiations, the official said.
