Winston's cafe arrival prompts diner with trans-son to stand up and leave
Greta Anderson was sitting at Takapuna Beach Cafe with some friends about to enjoy a cup of tea when Winston Peters and his entourage walked in and parked up at a table near her.
"I turned around and, oh," she says. "I've been extremely upset about what he's done about trans people in this country, and the way he's kicked down".
"Personally, the way it affects me the most is his anti-trans, define a woman bill. I have a trans-son. I teach trans-children. My friends have got trans-children. Trans-children are everywhere.
"It's just so upsetting what he's done," Anderson says.
She left the cafe and walked her dog along the beach.
