National Party deputy leader just spoke to reporters at Parliament, giving her reckons on Labour's state of the nation speech.
She said Chris Hipkins had failed to present an alterative vision for New Zealand.
"His speech read like a lump of jelly filled with platitudes and sentiment, but no concrete ideas," she said.
Willis said Hipkins had just listed concerns, but no solutions. And, she said she actually agreed with a lot of his "sentiments".
"Truly, Chat GPT could have written that speech, guys. It was a collection of platitudes and focus groups sentiments, and I actually didn't disagree with many of the sentiments.
"You know, it is very personal to me too, that I want to see fewer New Zealanders leaving. Well, here's a fact for Chris Hipkins, there have been fewer New Zealand citizens leaving in each of the past four months than there were when he was prime minister," she said.
She was referring to this line for Hipkins' speech: "This is very personal to me. I'm part of a large, blended family ... I see young New Zealanders - smart, hardworking, full of potential - making calculations that no young person should have to do. Do I stay in the country I love?"
