'Last week wasn't the perfect week': Luxon on last week's poll results
Now, to the poll. Luxon has again denied having any discussions with party members about his leadership over the weekend. "I can assure you I'll be the leader going into the election in November 7," he said.
However, he has admitted to discussing the poll results with some ministers.
"I talk to ministers every couple of days, if not every day, most of them. And of course, we talk about topics of the week. And as you said, there's no perfect week in politics. Last week wasn't the perfect week, and it's not surprising that I've raised that in passing," he said.
Willis was also asked about the poll result, after she called it “not a good number” on Friday morning.
"I think I just simply spoke the truth. Which, of course, the Prime Minister and me and the National Party want to be polling a lot better than that number, because we want New Zealand to have the government it deserves," she said.
